8/26/2013 ^ Yellowstone to Atlanta

This is the second Yellowstone to Atlanta email that was originally sent out as separate emails to family members to let them know where we were, what we were doing and give tidbits about our activities. I have copied the original emails and added some pictures for viewing. The trip started in August and ended in October.  This is the first of our extended stay trips in the Adventurer.

Please enjoy and feel free to share the link to the blog site with family and friends that might like to read and see the pictures.

Subject: Another update

Well after a couple of rest days (which we really enjoyed) we have begun to explore Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area.

Beverly and I located a local eatery that is a bakery too.  (Similar to Butcher Shop but more deli type and much smaller.)  Ernie's Deli is the name and I enjoyed Ernie's Super Burger.  A full half pound of beef, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, mushroom, bacon and choice of cheese.  Whew!  Nearly could not eat it all but managed somehow to finish the burger.  Beverly ate my French fries for me.

Found a car wash to clean up the car before heading out.  Can't see out the windows unless you wash it after towing.  We are filled up and ready to roll tomorrow morning.  Before that we had a wonderful meal of Beef tips and rice, green beans, Red Lobster biscuits and brownies all prepared by the three ladies in our group.  As Grandpa on Hee Haw used to say, Yum, Yum!

Before we took the long trip, we visited the Wolf and Grizzly center in West Yellowstone.  Very interesting place, they take homeless bears, wolves and eagles and keep them as close to natural as possible.   No handling, or human interaction to keep them acting as natural as possible.  One of the bears got out of hand, and Beverly had to wrestle him down because he got pretty close to me.  Made her mad and she took him out.  She is quite deadly.  Made me a very nice hat from the pelt but I am not sure about her seamstress abilities but naturally I do not make any comments.  See what you think, the picture is attached of me modeling her handiwork.
Here is the bear Beverly had to take down!
...and the Bear hat she made for me!
Today we went into Yellowstone and followed one of the loops.  We had a very busy, long day.  Saw lots of wildlife, Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, ducks, geese, cranes, elk, bison and one Robber Jay when we ate lunch.  No bears or wolves yet.  Where we ate was Otter Creek and met some other Texans from Fort Worth.  They took our picture (attached) and we took theirs.  Nice folks.  In the picture, Alstons on left, Soules on right with Jack their dog.
A bunch of happy campers!  Love the dining room!
From there we visited the Yellowstone Canyon, north rim and saw some very impressive waterfalls and beautiful scenery.  Later in the week we will visit the south rim and do some more exploring.  First we want to take a closer look at Old Faithful and the other geysers.  More updates later.
Gibbons Falls, up close and further away.
Too bad so many people believe this just happened or evolved.  God's creation is too beautiful to have just happened or created itself.

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." (Rom 1:20 NASB)

Hope all is well with you.  Talk to you later
